We’ve had some exciting news in the last few weeks:

First of all, our CD is finished. It is called “Takin’ On The Rain”, has 13 songs on it, and we’re very pleased with how it all turned out. We need to send it off for duplication and packaging still, but here’s to hoping we can start distributing it by mid-October.

Second, a song from the CD, “Somebody’s Beautiful Baby” has been chosen to be included on a compilation CD put together by Madison’s Porchlight, Inc. (http://www.porchlightinc.org/mmm/index.htm). The project is called ‘Madison Made Music’ and it supports organizations working to reduce poverty and homelessness in the Madison area. Proceeds from sales of the CD will go to Porchlight, Inc. to help fight homelessness in the Madison area. Over 150 artists submitted material for the prjoect, and ours was one of 15 selected by committee for inclusion. The committee was made up some well-known local and international luminaries including Sybil Augustine, Bill Malone, Gabby Parsons, Ben Sidran, Rick Tvedt, and Butch Vig. Bill Malone invited us to appear on his WORT-FM morning show on October 2nd. We will be there around 11:00 am. We will also be performing on September 20th at the Brocach Pub to celebrate the release of the CD. All 15 artists were asked to perform a 45 minute set that night at several venues throughout the downtown area. We will send you more information on both of those two events via email.

Third, there is no third.

Fourth, Fyfe’s Corner Bistro is closing in October. This really doesn’t fit under a category of “Exciting News”, but we have loved playing there so much and we’ve loved the staff and management so much, that they deserve some notice. Our last show there is September 15th.
