Hey, it’s June! This happened last year at almost the same time, so we’re hitting some familiar ground here. We have a new drummer! Marty Coonen started working out with us a couple of months ago, and we’re ready now to take the show on the road. Marty and Thomas played in a blues band together several years ago. That band broke up, but the two of them kept each other amused through clever email exchanges; political rants; reports from Paraguay; reminiscences of poorly-delivered, live blues numbers in public places; and how much funnier biographies are when they are surreptitiously penned by … well… Marty. So there’s some history there but it’s the future we’re mostly concerned with and there’s lots of that there as well. We’re playing our first live show together on June 21. It’ll be a blast… and, frankly, we’ve taken the last few months off from performing so it’ll be a relief too. It’s tough to go that long without some audience face time.
